This Guajira or Wayuu lady shows one of the icons of my birth city: Maracaibo, Venezuela.
The piece depicts a Wayuu lady in a traditional dress or "manta" showing a representation of a typical "Tapiz" or tapestry design.
Around the sides of the dress or "manta" are written part of the lyrics of the song "Sentir Zuliano ":
Es la tierra del zuliano, un paraíso pequeño
Donde todos son hermanos, desde el guajiro al costeño
